Artists and Writers in Residence Selected

DURANGO, COLORADO, July 15, 2007. Colorado Art Ranch has selected the six winning applicants for the Durango residency in September 2007. Three contemporary artists and three writers will enjoy a one-month residency to develop their work in La Plata County. A panel of three writers and three artists selected the residents from over 50 applicants. Residents will attend Colorado Art Ranch from September 5 through October 5. Artists selected are: Roberta Smith, Julia Karll and Ritsuko Taho. Writers selected are Emily Wortman-Wunder, Marj Hahne and BK Loren.

SALIDA, COLORADO, April 10, 2007. Colorado Art Ranch has selected the five winning applicants for the Salida residency in May 2007. Three contemporary artists and two writers will enjoy a one-month residency to develop their work in Chaffee County. A panel of two writers and two artists selected the residents from over 50 applicants. Residents will attend Colorado Art Ranch from May 1 through May 30

Christo and Jeanne-Claude to Speak at Salida Artposium
Colorado Art Ranch, a nonprofit residency program for artists and writers, is thrilled to announce that Christo and Jeanne-Claude will be speaking at the Colorado Art Ranch Artposium in Salida, Colorado on May 26, 2007. Christo and Jeanne-Claude will derive no income from this event. Their presentation is a gift to the Colorado Art Ranch.

Salida Artposium Kick-off 10/24/06

Colorado Art Ranch board members will meet with interested locals in Salida on October 24, 2006. Author, Susan Tweit and artist, Sherrie York, are gathering folks to meet at Bongo Billy's from 11:00 to 1:00. Executive director, Grant Pound, and board members will be on hand to answer questions.

Salida Chosen for Artposium Site 10/4/06
Colorado Art Ranch has selected Salida, Colorado as the site of the first Artposium and residency. Salida has a thriving arts community and is a base for river rafting and high mountain recreation. The Artposium theme will focus on the river and how artists and writers affect our views of the river.

Colorado Art Ranch Receives Grant 8/14/06
A Boulder philanthropist has donated $50,000 to Colorado Art Ranch to help get the organization running and put on the Salida Artposium and residency. The grant was made on behalf of the Jeffrey David Talley Foundation.
